Heather Conine (née Atha) currently teaches and plays violin in Charlotte, NC. She has performed on stages across the United States as well as Europe as a chamber music festival participant at Peter de Grote in the Netherlands, Zodiac Festival in France, Alpenkammermusik Festival in Austria, and Green Mountain Chamber Festival in Burlington, Vermont.
Heather studied violin performance at the University of South Florida where she studied with John T. Posadas and Carolyn Stuart. She continued her studies at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts where she received a Master of Music in Violin Performance while she studied under Kevin Lawrence. She has completed the pedagogical Suzuki courses for Suzuki Books 1-4; 6-10 as well as the supplementary course "Teaching Intermediate through Advanced" with Terri Durbin and Music Mind Games Unit 1 (music theory) training.
She is a registered Suzuki Association member, and is opening her new studio, Queen City Suzuki Violin, in Charlotte, NC. She has been teaching Suzuki violin to children ages 3 and above for almost a decade. Heather finds joy in the open genius of the mind of the young child, and is passionate about teaching the soul of music to everyone who is willing to join her in the pursuit of making beautiful art.
Heather is currently playing weddings and special events with Deans' Duets throughout North & South Carolina & Virginia.
